Homemade Cork Board

Homemade Cork Board

Corks, Corks, Corks by Angi

I saw a picture of a corkboard made out of different sizes of corks. I'm not sure how they made it, but I'm assuming they took an 8x10 frame and glued the corks to the cardboard backing of the frame. After the corks were dry, assemble the frame as usual, minus the glass and you are ready to go. I'm sure you could make various sizes and styles of cork boards.

fun idea.

for fathers day (for my husband) I took our collection of corks and picked out the prettiest ones and glued them to the inside of a wine crate (the 3 bottle gift size crate). I stained the crate and let it dry before gluing in the corks. I glued the corks in a step pattern and it came out really cool. on the inside of the lid I glued his collection of match boxes (minus the matches) that he has collected from all over. He loved the box. you can cut the corks in half lengthwise if you wish giving you more cork to work with and they lay flat and fit together better. JUST BE CAREFUL CUTTING THEM....ITS HARD AND YOUR HAND CAN EASILY SLIP.

A family friend who is a wine lover, took numerous corks and created a beautiful side table with a glass top for me. You can also, very carefully, cut the corks in half length-wise, glue them to a sealed (painted or primed, so the glue sticks) piece of 1/4" plywood to make a bulletin board of whatever size you wish. I use old wine corks to store my hand sewing needles so that they do not get lost on my pin cushion, I use a permanent marker to color the ends so I know what type of needle is stored on each one.

I like your idea for the corkboard. I took the packing foam and wrap it in an old curtain and made a corkboard for my daughter and it match her living decor.
