Love the life you live and let everyone know it when you learn how to combine glimmering Deco Foil and a recycled pallet to create this masterful piece of DIY wall decor. The Love Life DIY Pallet Craft shows you how to adhere an uplifting phrase to a rustic old pallet, allowing you to combine a vintage look with a sweet sentiment onto one beautiful piece of DIY home decor. This pallet craft idea is easy-to-make and a fantastic statement piece. If this mantra isn't exactly your style, you could easily choose different wording.
Transform your favorite “words to live by” into unique wall art using die-cut letters and sophisticated foil finishes. This technique can be used to add dimension and shine to wood, paper and other porous surfaces. Foils come in a wide range of on-trend colors from brights to classic metals to pastels.

Materials List

  • iCraft® Deco Foil™ Foam Adhesive Sheets
  • iCraft® Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets: Pink Melon, Gold, Teal
  • Rustic wooden pallet, 11-1/2”x11”
  • Acrylic paint
  • Tools: dies or electronic cutting system, ruler

Love the Life Wood Pallet

Note: Follow manufacturer’s directions throughout. Step-out photos show a larger die-cut shape for detail; follow the same steps to create foiled letters.

  1. Paint horizontal planks of pallet desired color; let dry. Apply second coat; let dry.

  2. Plan wording at desired size. Die cut necessary letters from Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets.

  3. Using photo as guide, separate words into groups by desired color. For example, LOVE is Pink Melon, LIVE is Teal and remaining words are Gold. Be sure no letters are reversed.

  4. Remove paper liner from front of first foam letter.

  5. Place foam letters, sticky side down, onto dull back side of desired Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. Be sure letters do not touch as adhesive is very strong.

  6. Turn foil sheet over and rub over all shapes with fingertips.

  7. Carefully peel away foil sheet from letters.

  8. Remove paper liner from back of each letter, one at a time, and press to pallet.
