Poppie’s Bow Scrunchies
Look fashionable is this hand-sewn scrunchie. Everywhere you look, you'll find people wearing these adorable bow scrunchies that can be worn a couple different ways. With a little bit of fabric and easy-to-follow instructions, you can make a handful of these in all kinds of patterns. They make great stocking stuffers!
Read all instructions first.
Use a 1/4” seam allowance.
- Cut 1 rectangle @5” x 22”
- Cut 2 bow templates on the fold
- Cut 1 piece 8” long of ¼” wide elastic
With right sides together sew around the outside edge of the bow template. Leave a 1” opening. Clip pointy ends to lessen bulk fabric in the corners.
Turn right side out. Press.
Topstitch close to the edge.
Press one short end (5”) of the rectangle 5” x 22” to the wrong side ½”.
Fold with right sides together, lengthwise. Sew long raw edge (22”).
Turn right side out. You will now have a tube. Do not press.
With a safety pin, thread the elastic through the folded end of the tube. Pin elastic so it won’t pull through. Once elastic is all the way through the tube, overlap elastic ½” and zig zag ends together.
Place the raw edge of the tube inside the folded edge of the tube about ½”. Zig zag across opening.
Tie bow around zig zagged seam.
