Materials List

  • 1/3 Yard of five coordinating Monaluna lawn prints. The picture shown uses the following:

    1. Cherry Blossoms Dawn lawn

    2. Spots lawn

    3. Poem Petal lawn

    4. Poem Sage lawn

    5. Cherry Blossoms Dusk lawn

  • Sewing machine
  • Color coordinating thread

Instructions

  1. Cut the fabrics into the following dimensions, using one of the prints twice:

    1. 10-1/2” x 21” Cherry Blossoms Dawn lawn
    2. 10-1/2” x 18” Poem Petal lawn
    3. 10-1/2” x 16” Cherry Blossoms Dusk lawn
    4. 10-1/2” x 15” Spots lawn
    5. 10-1/2” x 19” Cherry Blossoms Dusk lawn
    6. 10-1/2” x 21” Poem Sage lawn

  2. Lay out the fabric according to the diagrams. Make two pieced strips (the first with Pieces 1-3, the second with Pieces 4-6).

  3. As you join each piece, place right sides together and stitch with 1/2” seam allowance, back tacking at the beginning and end of seams. Press seams toward the darker fabric.

  4. Check that your two pieced strips are the same length, and trim if needed.

  5. Place the two pieces right sides together, and stitch the two long edges with 1/2” seam allowance, again back tacking at the beginning and end of the seams.

  6. Reach into the tube you’ve just created and bring the short ends right sides together (Piece 1 should face Piece 3, and Piece 4 should face Piece 6).

  7. Sew together with a 1/2” seam allowance, being sure to line up the side seams, and leaving a 4” opening.

  8. Turn scarf right side out and press.

  9. Stitch the opening closed, by hand or machine.

I've never made a scarf before but if I did I'd use this pattern. I like that it can go with a lot of different things.

Beautiful!

I've never sewn a scarf before, but this pattern looks great!

I have never tried sewing a scarf, but I would try something in a bright silk pattern!

This is so pretty, Unity scarfs are my favorite,

I Would love, to make the play ful patchwork scarf

My favorite scarf is the magic bias scarf I saw demonstrated on "sewing with Nancy" many years ago. It turns out so pretty with such a small slice of fabric, comparatively.

Love this idea! Have not tried sewing a scarf yet!

I have never sewn a scarf, only crocheted and loom knitted them.
