Easy Decoupage Foam Pumpkins
Easy Decoupage Foam Pumpkins

"These adorable decoupage pumpkins will add farmhouse-style charm to your fall home decor. These pumpkins are easy to make using foam pumpkins from the dollar store, Mod Podge, paint and scrapbook paper. They take only 30-45 minutes to make, and you can customize them using any design. Add decoupage pumpkins to a fireplace mantel, table centerpiece, or front porch for a pretty autumn display this season. The best part is how affordable they are to make!"

Materials List

  • Foam pumpkin
  • Decoupage glue
  • Acrylic paint
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Wooden stick or stem
  • Ribbon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove foam stem from the pumpkin.

  2. Apply 1-2 coats of acrylic paint and let dry.

  3. Tear scrapbook paper into small 1-inch rectangular pieces.

  4. Apply decoupage glue on pumpkin and begin applying strips of paper in mosaic pattern.

  5. Let dry completely for about 20-25 minutes. You may need to work in sections to prevent sticking.

  6. Apply a top coat of decoupage glue and let dry.

  7. Insert a stem of your choice and any other accents of your choosing.

NotesYou can also use an optional spray sealer to protect your decoupage pumpkins. See my related tutorial on painting foam pumpkins for more ideas.
