Bring in the New Year with this glittering sparkling wreath from Krylon. This New Year's Eve craft is festive and so fun to make. In fact, this is a perfect way to greet your party guests.

New Years Wreath


  • Krylon Short Cuts® Aerosol Paints - Iris (#SCS074)
  • Krylon Short Cuts® Aerosol Paints - Turquoise (#SCS101)
  • Krylon Short Cuts® Aerosol Paints - Chrome (#SCS032)
  • Krylon Glitter Spray - Shimmering Silver (#402)
  • Krylon Leafing Pens - Silver (#9902)
  • 18 Grapevine Wreath
  • 1/2" × 12" × 18" piece of Styrofoam®
  • Eucalyptus
  • 4 to 5 yards of 5/8" wide white picot edge ribbon
  • 3 yards each of 1/8" satin ribbon: Pale Plum, Lavender, and Mint
  • Glue gun and glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Electric foam cutter or serrated knife
  • Drop cloth or newspapers


  1. Place drop cloth or newspapers over work area. Base coat wreath with Chrome. Set aside to dry.
  2. Trace star shapes onto one side of foam. Please Note: the model used 6 large and 5 medium. Carefully cut star shapes from foam. Base coat front of each star with Chrome. Allow to dry.
  3. Randomly spray 4 stars with Turquoise, allowing some of the silver to show through. Repeat this procedure accenting 7 stars with Iris. Allow to dry.
  4. Draw a line along top edge of one star with the Silver Leafing Pen. Draw a line with the pen from a random center point of the star through the center of each point/arm. Draw a line from the same center point to each inside corner of the star. Set aside to dry. Repeat this procedure for each star.
  5. Lightly spray the eucalyptus randomly with Chrome and Iris. Set aside to dry.
  6. Lay the 5/8" wide ribbon in loose loops/curls on drop cloth. Randomly spray with Turquoise and Iris. Uncurl ribbon and hang to dry.
  7. Loosely wrap wreath with approximately 1 1/2 to 2 yards of the 5/8" wide ribbon, tacking with glue as needed to hold in place. Cut remainder of the 5/8" ribbon as follows: two 30" lengths, one 20" length, and one 12" length.
  8. Glue assorted length sprigs of eucalyptus to the wreath.
  9. Cut a 36" length from each narrow ribbon and bundle with one of the 30" long wider ribbons. Knot together at the center with an overhand knot. Glue to wreath on left–hand side. Repeat with remaining 30" ribbon length. Cut a 26" length from each narrow ribbon, bundle with the 20" ribbon length, and secure with a knot as before. Glue to wreath on lower right–hand side. Cut an 18" length from each narrow ribbon, bundle with the 12" ribbon length, and secure with a knot as before. Glue to upper left side of the wreath.
  10. Referring to the model for placement, glue stars in place. Loop a few ribbon ends and tack in place with glue. Trim ribbons to desired lengths.
  11. Randomly spray entire wreath with Shimmering Silver Glitter. Allow to dry.
