NotesEach bunny will fit on a regular-sized egg or small plastic egg if you do not stuff and draw up the bottom of the bunny body.

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge18 sts = 4” [10 cm]; 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

Finished SizeBunny measures 2” [5.08 cm] tall, excluding ears

Materials List

  • RED HEART® Gumdrop®: 1 ball each 202 Lemon, 501 Smoothie, 750 Grape, 930 Orange or 620 Cherry
  • Susan Bates® Double pointed needles: One set 5mm [US 8]
  • Stitch marker, yarn needle, embroidery needle, scrap yarn (for eyes and nose), fiberfill

Easy Knitted Bunny Pattern Instructions:

BODY

  1. With color of choice, cast on 24 sts using long-tail cast on, leaving a long end for sewing. Join, being careful that sts are not twisted, and begin working in the round. Place marker for beginning of round.

  2. Rounds 1-14: Knit around.

  3. Round 15: (K2, K2tog) around -- 18 sts.

  4. Round 16: Knit around.

  5. Round 17: (K1, K2tog) around -- 12 sts.

  6. Round 18: Knit around.

EARS (Make 2)

  1. Cast on 4 sts, leaving a long end for sewing.

  2. Row 1: Knit across.

  3. Row 2: Purl across.

  4. Rows 3 and 4: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.

  5. Row 5: K2tog, knit to end -- 3 sts.

  6. Row 6: P2tog, purl to end -- 2 sts.

FINISHING

  1. Using long end from bunny ear cast on and yarn needle, thread yarn needle with the end. Using photo as a guide, attach two ears to the top of the bunny body.

  2. Using photo as a guide and threading yarn needle with scrap yarn, embroider eyes and nose.

  3. Stuff bunny body with a small amount of fiberfill. Using long end from cast on and yarn needle, thread yarn needle with the end and weave through stitches, draw up firmly; fasten securely.
