Materials List

  • Puzzle
  • Wreath form
  • Spray paint + primer
  • Acrylic glitter paint (optional)
  • Tacky craft glue
  • Modge Podge
  • Ribbon
  • 1" craft mirrors

Instructions

  1. Use spray paint + primer to cover the graphics on the puzzle

  2. Once dry, add acrylic paint

  3. Arrange puzzle pieces into a variety of snowflake shapes by gluing them onto cardstock circles (for stability). Larger snowflakes need extra support. Cut a popsicle stick into smaller portions and glue to backside of snowflakes to support each arm.

  4. Add a 1" craft mirror in center of each snowflake, if desired

  5. Once glue dries, arrange and layer snowflakes onto wreath form using tacky craft glue

  6. Leave space to attach a ribbon

  7. If desired, attach fishing wire to backside of 2-3 snowflakes to hang down in center of the wreath

  8. Add layer of Modge Podge to secure snowflakes to one another

  9. Hang and admire

This is just so very pretty. I didn't even notice it was puzzle pieces until I started reading the material list. It is such an easy project. Just paint, mod podge and glue. How simple is that? And look at what a pretty creation you can turn out. I know it will be one of a kind.

What a pretty winter wreath! I have an old puzzle but the pieces are too small for a one inch mirror to fit in the middle. After thinking a bit, I remembered a potato chip bag made with that Mylar type of finish inside, so I might try that. Cutting a true circle, especially that small, sounds challenging though.
