  • HK – hook CH – chain
  • SS – Slip Stitch
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • SC DEC – Single Crochet Decrease
  • DC - Double Crochet * * repeat the instructions within

18.5cm (7 ¼”) width & height  strap – 2.5cm (1”) width x 110cm (43 ½”)

Round 1) 1 sc In 2nd ch from hk (mark with a stitch marker and move up with the start of each round), 23 sc, 3 sc in last ch (carry on down the other side of the ch), 23 sc, 2 sc in last ch, join with a ss to the tp of the 1st sc (52)
Round 2 – 5)  Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 51 sc, join with ss to 1st sc (52)
Round 6) Ch 1, 1 sc in same stitch, 1 dc, *1 sc, 1 dc* x 25, ss to join to 1st sc (52)
Round 7) Ch 1, 1 dc in same stitch, 1 sc, *1 dc, 1 sc* x 25, ss to join to 1st sc (52)
Rounds 8 – 23) Repeat rows 6 & 7
Round 24 - 27) Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 dc, *1 sc, 1 dc* x 12, turn (26)

I think I figured it out...we are working in rounds and the original chain is the actual bottom of the purse?

What does it mean "carry on down the other side of the chain?"

I would make this in sky blue - my favorite color.
