I'm always looking for new crafts for my kindergarten class, and they love rainbow fish! I think the sewing part might be a little bit advanced for them and there are to many of them for me to do each one myself. Do you think If I just cut the fish shapes out on paper and let them do all the other steps the craft would come out just as nice?

I think that would work, Sierra. My friend who is also a kidergarten teacher adapts projects often to make them age appropriate or to save time. You could glue these fishies on cardboard paper backs instead and with all the embellishments they would look fantastic.

I loved the story about Rainbow Fish as a child! This is the perfect craft for anyone who has small children.
