Honestly, using the variegated embroidery thread makes the flower almost resemble a circular shell, with all the subtle color changes in it. You can literally choose any colors you want, to fill your jewelry box with a pair for each and every top or dress you own. Quick to make up, and a really great item for craft fairs- a lot of times people look for inexpensive items.

Ha. My name is Iris )

Love the look of these Iris Crochet Earrings! The pattern is well written and is so easy to whip up. I love the purple colors and the size is just right. I'll be pulling out my magnifying glass and making a few sets of these lovely earrings. Thank you for this free pattern.

I have made lots of crochet earrings but they were always the kind where you make up a small flower like a rose and glued it onto a clip earring with a round disk on the front. This is one that I can make in the pierced variety. They should be light weight too. Thank you for giving me a new idea.
