Usually I would cut the fabric for around the cording on the bias as it would ease around the cord more easily. There are really neat tutorials on how to sew fabric a certain way, sort of in an off center trapezoid, and then cut it from one continuous length. Making your own handles is a great idea because so many times handles can be too short or really uncomfortable. Great tutorial and idea, thanks for sharing!

I have made corded bag handles many times before out of all kinds of fabric and I just cut one piece to fit around the cord instead of sewing and making tube. I like to use them because you can match the handles to the fabric or choose the fabric you want and not have to search for what you want.This is a good tutorial and so fast and simple I just think it is quicker cutting one piece. Thanks.
