Materials List

  • Deco Foil Transfer Gel
  • Deco Foil Transfer Sheets, Silver Stars
  • Newton’s Nook: Cosmic Newton Stamp Set; Starfield Stencil
  • iCraft Adhesives: Memory Tape XL Runner; 3D White Foam Squares; Purple Tape
  • Cardstock: white, cream, and navy
  • Black ink pad
  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Tools: paper trimmer, bone folder, acrylic stamp block, palette knife, oval frame die, manual die-cutting machine, and detail scissors
  • Foil Laminator

Instructions

Note: Preheat laminator for 15-20 minutes following the manufacturer’s directions.

  1. Cut the cream cardstock to 4” x 5.25”. Place cardstock on a protected work surface and secure the stencil over the top using strips of Purple Tape. Using a palette knife, spread an even layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the stencil. Return any excess gel to the jar. Carefully remove the tape and stencil; let the design dry until it is completely clear or overnight. Clean the stencil with soap and water.

  2. Cut a piece of Deco Foil Transfer Sheet slightly larger than the stenciled panel. Place the foil over the stenciled transfer gel, color side up, and place both on a half-sheet of scrap cardstock inside a folded piece of parchment paper. Close the parchment paper and insert it into a hot laminator, leading with the creased edge. Peel away the foil sheet to reveal metallic finish.

  3. Use black ink to stamp the rocket image and sentiment onto the white cardstock. Using the photo as a guide, color the image with markers or colored pencils. Detail the cut image and cut the sentiment into a banner shape. Die cut an oval frame from the navy cardstock.

  4. Create a 4.25” x 5.5” navy card. Adhere the stenciled panel with the tape runner. Adhere te oval frame, rocket image, and sentiment banner to the card front using foam squares to add dimension.
