This is a very interesting and unique project! Has anyone made this before? I could see this as a great way to tote swimming suits and wet towels from the beach, there would be no worry if it got messy with sand, etc. or for picnic food or anything messy. You could rinse it out easily, and if it does get damaged, no big expense. How clever!

I knitted a bag from plarn one time and it was hard to work with because it has no "give." It might be easier to crochet with. It's amazingly sturdy and can be made in to a lot of different things, but it takes a lot more bags than you think it will!
